BIOGRAPHY

Griff took up playing saxophone later in life. Originally self taught after buying his first saxophone after a few too many beers but went on to study for an HND in music performance at Chichester and later  a BA (Honours) in Jazz Performance at Middlesex University.


Griff has played at various venues throughout his career including Buckingham Palace, HM Yacht Britannia, The Vortex, Toulouse Lautrec, The Hideway, The QE2's last voyage, Wimbledon Ladies and Mens finals day, The Guildhall and many more. Griff currently plays tenor sax with the South London Jazz Orchestra, local funk band Fat Percentage, and his own jazz quartet DGQ.

When Griff isn't either playing or teaching, he can be found repairing saxophones, clarinets and flutes etc from his workshop in Devon.  Griff's hobbies include music, wildlife and landscape photography. Griff  is married to his very supportive wife Simone and has 2 teenage boys Harry and Freddie and lives in Exmouth, Devon.
